TCL 2019 Game against Philly Hawks

Match Report:

We like morning 7:30 games and we were waiting for this game specially to wipe out memory of last week's game. Almost everyone was on the field on time except one (not to be named here 😉). We did complete the usual chores of stretching and catch practicing. Hesitantly went for toss considering my luck on winning the toss this season. I thought luck part might have changed but it didn't. Did I mention earlier that I will not go for toss anymore 😊 Please stop me next time before I go for toss. Anyways we lost the toss and asked to bat first. That was a right move by opponents as ball will not travel due to dew on the grass. #TitansStud and Rajesh (#FakeDhoni) went to open the innings. #FakeDhoni and #SilentKiller didn't want to bother scorer much and came back to join rest of us. #SeriousGuy joined #TitansStud started accumulating runs. It was tough to hit that heavy ball and they stick to singles and doubles which was sensible batting on that day. Eventually #TitansStud got out and #MadCaptain didn't want to bother fielders in the middle either. Siva (#SivaAkhtar) joined #SeriousGuy and all of a sudden I could sense that there was a healthy competition to find out who is more fitter on the ground 😊 They took some quick singles and doubles and scoreboard started ticking. It was good to see young guns batting so sensible and adapting to the pitch and condition. In came the last over for us which I believe gave the momentum to us. #SivaAkhtar let himself loose and started hitting mercilessly. We got almost 14 runs in last over with one huge six from #SivaAkhtar.

I knew we had a team of good bowling attack on that day and all I asked team is to attack and be aggressive on the field. They did exactly the same, we took an offensive approach and results are showing up on the scorecard. None of the opponent batsmen could touch the double-digit number. I was little skeptical as were defending the same score as last game and didn't want to go through all over again. Probably this is the first game in this season where we had discipline bowling attack. Best part was we gave away only 1 extra/wide (again not to call out the bowler's name 😉) in the entire game. Great job by all the bowlers #SeriousGuy - #SilentKiller - #HumanComputer - #TitansMcGrath - #TheKiller and #SivaAkhtar, at last practice is paying off it's dividends. Anyways I wish I could say the same for our fielding. We dropped few catches (again no names 😉) and there were few misfieldings too. But I would consider that was just a bad day on the field. I know we are better than this. Only area that we need to work on is batting. We need to start posting big numbers while batting first. I am sure we will get better if we practice more.

Man of the Match - It should go to all the bowlers but #SivaAkhtar's performance in bat and ball stood out. His last over was a treat to watch. He was bowling yorkers at will and doing justice to his hashtag name 😊

Positives:

1. Discipline bowling.

2. Aggressiveness on the field.

Negatives:

1. Hate to post this but we need to work on batting. Time to show some aggression in batting and post big scores.

Let's continue this momentum and don't look back from here.
