Social Intelligence Definition
According to VIACharacter.org: ..."aware of the motives and feelings of other people. You know what to do to fit in to different social situations, and you know what to do to put others at ease."
Also: Social intelligence involves two general components:
Listening-always a good idea.
Seeing hooks to avoid un-needed arguments.
Figuring out "Just Right"
Under or over use of our strength of social intelligence. Example of humor and bravery.
Giving clearer social cues.
(Keep in mind, the other person still chooses if they will follow what you are asking or wanting.)
Attitude check.
Matching time, place and manner.
Guess what? Adults are still working on this too!
How do you not liked to be talked to?
How do you not like people to act toward you?
When do people not respond so well?
Can you notice 'hooks'? Being 'baited' in a conversation to argue? Don't take the bait!
