You will be seeing more of our new guests...
We see our new guests starting... NOW:
The question is not IF you have the strength of leadership, the question is WHEN and HOW you use it.
----
Interesting: Leadership and teamwork often switches back and forth when working with others in a situation. If someone is trying to lead, then you get to decide if you will use your strength of teamwork with them at that time. You still have the strength of leadership, even when you choose to use your strength of teamwork!
You are learning to recognize when, and in what way is best for you to lead-and when it is best for to let another lead. You get to still decide if you will use your strength of teamwork to follow their lead.
Leadership ideas to try:
Influencing others to give someone else a turn. Example in a group: You know, I haven't heard xyz's idea yet. Let's hear her idea.
Give someone else the 'spotlight' (not having to be the center of the praise or attention but sharing it). Example in sports: Passing it to someone else to score a point and encouraging them to take the shot.
Taking the responsibility even though you could look 'bad' - instead of blaming people/things to look better. Example: "Next time we can tape our dance decorations better" instead of "Our dance decorations fell apart because xyz didn't tape it right!"
Giving the credit to others that helped. Example: "I can't take all the credit, this would not have been possible without the great help and teamwork from everyone here."
What are some cool leadership ideas you suggest others try? Tell me within HERE
Something to think about: Sometimes you show leadership by NOT doing something others are doing.
Doing something different than what most are doing can be super hard to do. It is easier to go along, it takes strengths of bravery and leadership to take a stand for something different.
Just think about that when you step up, take the stand in a situation NOT to join in to say mean things, make fun of a person's fail or their faults. Another step of leadership is actually saying something so others can follow your lead-like changing the subject, or saying let's stop, or I actually think they are pretty cool.
Another step of leadership could be walking over to the person and sitting by them or talking with them.
You could demonstrate leadership by influencing a group to take action and accomplish something.
Leaders tend to be good at organizing and planning group activities and can readily assume responsibility for the group’s success and challenges.
Leadership strength relates to feeling emotionally stable, sociable, and conscientious.
BOOST THIS STRENGTH:
Create and take charge of a new family tradition, such as an anniversary, twist on a family reunion, etc.
When two people are in an argument, step in to mediate and work out a solution.

You can see that adults are still learning like you are. In fact, that aspect of learning and being a student is key to being a leader. Listen to this video that is also helping adults!
This video is from Harvard Business Review to adults. Yes, it is slow (I wanted to click out of it twice myself... but I used my strength of Perserverance :) Notice strengths and topics we cover in our Character Ed/Social Emotional Learning? You are on the way learning important points!
And of course, we look to Kid President (or, I mean, KP) to hear some awesomeness about leadership.
