If you are around people you get bugged by someone, it happens. They can't read your mind or maybe they are in the mood to bug. Maybe they are overusing their strength of Humor or Zest or under-using their strength of Self-Control or Social Intelligence.
I have heard students say "at home my brother or sister won't stop when I tell them to."
I am sorry that happened. AT OUR SCHOOL, we want to make sure that STOP MEANS STOP. Not one more time, not but it didn't hurt, not you started it. STOP MEANS STOP.
We can tell each other to "Please stop" to coach them how to treat us.
Telling someone to "Please stop" gives them a chance to know you are becoming irritated with what they are doing (in the yellow). So you don't need to 'blow up' (in the red).
If you hear "Please stop" - then, STOP. I am sure you have your side, but that was your clear communication that this is not the way to proceed. The other person is telling you you will need to find a different time and way to solve the situation.
Giving personal space
Using self-control when lining up.
Remembering the stoplight to work something out.
Remembering not trying to control someone, and sometimes if it's not working out we might let a relationship go for now.
Remembering sometimes trying to use the strength of Humor can be hurtful. You have the power to tell someone to stop or walk away.
Remembering to use the strength of Forgivness when you learned to do something different.
