2nd grade:
"Someone being mean" = The bigger picture (using Perspective) is knowing you have the power to decide what you believe to be true or not no matter what anybody says. If they say something does that mean you have to believe it?
4th grade:
"Someone pushing me around" = The bigger picture (using Perspective) is not letting people get their power by pushing people around. You can talk with a teacher or trusted adult about this and we will work to let them know in our community we do not allow this and try to provide the help that person needs.
"Bullying" = Again, the bigger picture (using Perspective) is not letting people get their power by bullying. You can talk with a teacher or trusted adult about this and we will work to let them know in our community we do not allow this and try to provide the help that person needs.
"Somebody saying mean things" = The bigger picture (using Perspective) is knowing you have the power to decide what you believe to be true or not no matter what anybody says. If they say something does that mean you have to believe it?
5th grade:
"What's hard? Math and reading" = The bigger picture (using Perspective) is that you can admit things are hard, you can talk with your teacher and ask for help or more support. You can ask your teacher if they can explain it in a different way.
"LA is so hard" = The bigger picture (using Perspective) is knowing you are learning. You can think back of how far you've come. It is tough now, but if you remember- it was tough when you started reading. Those first few words were hard. Now if you go back to those words they would so easy for you. Just like if you come back 5 years from now to what is hard now, you may look back and think this is easy.
"Trying to be nice and being friendly but people are mean back" = The bigger picture (using Perspective) is understanding we all have things we can work on. You get to decide if some way you are trying to do something may need to be adjusted so it comes off better or you always have the power to decide what you believe-you can decide if you believe if what they say is true or not.
