Back to Part 1 (Understanding The Basics)

Labrinth & Zokor - Part 2 (Hunting Strategy)

Effective traps: Forgotten

  • This part of the guide will help you in developing a good strategy for hunting in laby and zokor. Your first priority here should be getting the laby base as this base will help you to avoid more dead end clues in the future. The other traps and mino base comes later.
  • You should start with a treasury run first as it is easy to get 25 of each of the districts loot (plate of fealty, scholar scrolls, tech cores) from the run to buy the laby base. Keep in mind that to improve your clues, you should even without the laby base or the endless laby trap use GGC, Lantern Oil, and Lantern Oil Charms. But once you start this process you must be committed; and you will need more than one Treasure Hallway to get enough clues.

Note: You do not need to use those resources stated above to get into treasury, it is just a suggestion. However, using those resources will help you get the loot faster to craft the laby base .

  • Try to stay under 49 treasury clues because going beyond that will unlock Treasure Vault. Treasure vault has harder mice as well as the loot drops are much less than in Treasure Room. So you would want to try to get 49 clues, as this will give you the most amount of hunts as well as avoid the Treasure vault.
  • Once you have your laby base, you can start your districts runs using GGC. If you do not have GGC, you could try for farming runs to get the crafting materials needed to craft GGC. Alternatively, you could always buy some from the flea market or in-game market. GGC maintains a relative value close to Super|Brie+.
  • Here is a an order in which you should get your traps:
    1. Laby base
    2. Endless Labyrinth Trap (ELT)
    3. Infinite Labyrinth Trap / Minotaur base (ILT / Mino)
    4. Event horizon trap / Temporal turbine trap aka TTT
  • Although some would argue that getting mino base before infinite laby trap would be better as the stats for mino base are better overall. I think its personally up to you. I personally went with the infinite labyrinth trap first because i wanted the improved catch rate for laby and also mino base is quite expensive to craft. Its a whopping 16mil gold! I'll lay the pros and cons here and you decide for yourself.
    • Mino base: expensive, provides good cr everywhere, loot use to craft base can be used to buy loc from ronza to sell for gold
    • ILT: cheap, provides good cr for areas with forgotten trap use
  • Temporal turbine trap should always be the last trap to be crafted as this is the most expensive trap of all in laby. This trap requires 2 temporal shadow plate. If you are doing mino runs to get the plates, it will take a long time. Buying the plates from market / flea can be quite costly too. But if you want to craft it before others it is fine too, you will enjoy using this trap very much in the long run.

Molten Midas

Treasury run

  • If you are going for a treasury run, choose a random door at the beginning and hunt with Gouda. You want to try to avoid getting as many other district specific clues (tech, scholar, fealty, farming) and dead end clues as possible.
  • Aiming for 15 treasury clues will unlock superior treasury hallway. Mice here have more clues and gold.
  • At an intersection, choose the best treasury door, if there are no treasury doors to pick from you can choose to shuffle the doors or pick the weakest door.
  • If you looking to farm gold, aim for 50 treasury clues to unlock the treasure vault exit at the end. Treasure vault has mice with high gold.
  • If you're in laby and have <15 total clue using compass magnet will give you a warning. It will warn you about treasury room not going to appear until you get 15 total clues at least.

Nightshade Fungalmancer

Farming run

  • If you are going for a farming run, choose a random door at the beginning and hunt with Gouda. You want to try to avoid getting as many other district specific clues (tech, scholar, fealty, treasury) and dead end clues as possible. Your goal is to get as many farming clues as you can, it is best to use GGC and lantern oil when hunting in farming halls to get more clues
  • At an intersection, choose the best door, if there are no farming doors to pick from you can choose to shuffle the doors or pick the best door for you.
  • While doing farming runs, you can use brie cheese as well. This will help you to save on GGC as well as being cost effective. However you should stick to using GGC in farming halls, as it will help you to get more clues.

District runs (Tech, Scholar, Fealty)

  • At an intersection you will pick your desired door and start hunting. You should choose which door is best based on the district loot you currently have in your inventory. It is best to manage this with equal levels when first starting out.
  • Once you have picked the door best for you and are in a district hallway, you should always consider using GGC to maximize the attraction rate of district mice. Store bought cheese can be used but it will have lower attraction rate to mice that drop loot as well as well as a higher attracting rate shadow stalker and other mice that do not drop loot. If you are interested in quick results consider GGC or SB+. If you are interested in profit use store bought cheese.
  • When choosing a door you will want to pay attention to the mice offered in each hallway. Sometimes picking the door with the longest hallway isn’t best based on your needs for specific mice. Not all hallways have the same mice and when doing maps or other, you may need to consider this. Otherwise choose the door with the longest hallway because you will want to collect as many clues from each of the hallways as possible.
  • If there are no district doors that to your liking while at an intersection go for the shortest hallway, or choose a district you have no clues in, or use a shuffle cube for a new set of doors to choose from. If you are hunting in a district other than what you want, remember to arm gouda to reduce the attraction to these mice from the other districts.
  • Hunting the last hallway in your run it is possible to exceed 100+ district clues. Using lantern oil charms adds one additional clue per hunt when paired with lantern oil and a mouse drops the loot. Super lantern oil charms realizes two extra clues when one is found. Keep in mind it is not guaranteed that every mouse will drop a district clue.
  • It is possible to get in excess of 150 district clues in a single run but that is based on precision play and unlimited resources.
  • When you have reached Zokor, you should always use GGC to maximize the district loot drops. Store bought cheese can be used also but is not recommended.

Retired Mino

Mino run

  • To start a mino run you must first have a Mino key. To get this you will have to defeat each of the three district boss mice and collect their loot and craft it into a key.
  • A successful mino run consists of having at least 30 clues from each of the three main districts (tech, scholar, fealty). This means that you have room for 10 additional random clues.
  • Make sure you have plenty of GGC, Lantern Oil, Compass Magnet Charms, and Oil Charms to ensure the amount of clues needed in each of the three districts.
  • Use can use gouda in Zokor to save on GGC but in laby you should always use GGC.

Note: If you have glowing gourd charms, you can pair it with gouda and use in laby as replacement for GGC.

Additional tips

  • When doing a farming run use GGC, the loot drops for crafting GGC will always be higher than the amount you started with.

  • If you are short on shuffler cubes or you don't have any and you did not get your desired door at the intersection, pick the shortest / weakest door. You want to avoid getting clues and dead ends from that hallway.

  • For example, if there is a short superior scholar, a short plain scholar, and a medium plain tech door and you are doing a farming run, go for the short plain door.

Note: This applies to all districts. I mean ALL.

  • Use oils at the last hallway if there is a possibility progress to the next alert stage.

  • While in laby, you should always use the laby base / Mino base to avoid dead end clues but at the last hallway you should always use the best base you have to max out catch rate since getting dead end clues here will not decrease which stage you are at in your run.

  • If you are nearing or already have 100 total clues, using a magnet will remove up to 3 clues from each of the districts you have clues including dead ends. This will help you by reducing your total number of clues and allow you to continue your run.

For example, you have 99 total clues (76 scholar, 2 farming, and 21 dead end) on the last hunt before ending a hallway but need to get to alert level 3. By using a magnet you will 3 scholar clues, 2 farming clues, and 3 dead ends for a total of 8 allowing you to finish the hallway and progress to another intersection.

  • There is a chrome upgrade kit for temporal turbine trap. This kit however is very costly but can be purchased from ronza / flea / market. It will increase the stats of the temporal turbine trap as well as give it a new look.

Summary

  • Get labyrinth Base
  • Farm districts for loot to craft and upgrade weapons and base
  • Always manage your resources
  • Use Cubes, Magnets, and charms in key situations.
