Saving Gold
Before we start talking about farming gold, lets talk about saving gold first. Learning to save gold, and using them wisely is really important for progressing in this game.
- Buying cheese as replacement for gold and reselling them later for gold back.
- This method is a good for those especially that have the tendency to impulsively buy things with gold.
- The cheese that you bought will be stored in your inventory. You can resell at the same price as you bought them.
- Note: Even if you buy all the cheese with your gold, mice can steal additional cheese if you don't have any gold that they can steal from you.
- Using the in-game market as a storage bank.
- You can use the in-game market as storage bank. There is no limit to how much you can store inside there except for the number of listings. Initially you are only allowed up to 4 listings for PC users and another 8 listings for mobile users. That's a whooping total of 12 listings to store your items.
- To store items in the market, first list to buy/sell an item for an absurd amount of price. This will help you to avoid from accidentally buying/selling the items you listed. You can cancel your listing anytime and your gold/items will be refunded to you in full amount.
- Eg. Buy as many Super|Brie+ as you can from the market for 1 gold each. This way you will store all the gold that you listed to buy the Super|Brie+ in the market.
- Eg. Sell as many Super|Brie+ as you want in the market for 999,999 gold (absurd amount!). This way will store all your Super|Brie+ in the market.
- Note: If you managed to buy all the Super|Brie+ at 1 gold each, lucky you.
- Remember to list items at absurd amounts. Most of them that list absurd amounts usually use market as storage. You will see once in a while someone will list to sell 200 Rare Map Dust or maybe 10K Super|Brie+.
- Ask and check before buying something especially traps.
- When it comes to buying certain items or traps, it never hurts to ask for a little advice before buying them. Try to join some MouseHunt community groups in the forums or on Facebook. A lot of veterans are willing to help new players progress further into the game by giving advice, funding traps or giving you free stuff to progress but please don't beg for items from other players.
- If you have a Limited Edition trap/base from an event, chances are you might be able to skip some traps/base. This will help you in saving gold as traps and bases can be very costly to buy or craft. You need every gold you can get to get those end-game traps.
- Some items do not need to be bought as they are not priority for your progression. So be sure to ask around before spending that gold. Refunding a base/trap can lose you a lot of gold and getting that lost gold back will not be easy.
