Weapons & Bases

  • Weapons and bases are usually purchased at your local area trapsmith; however, there are also special weapons and bases that are offered during events, from maps, or from Ronza. These specialty items are called Limited Edition bases and traps. Limited Editions traps/bases are usually better than crafted ones but this is usually not the case for "end-game traps" (as what veterans would called it) as it is usually better in terms of stats.
  • With that being said some Limited Edition traps / bases can be tremendously helpful for low rank hunters and even high rank hunters. It will even allow you to skip certain traps / bases allowing them to save some gold, crafting materials and progress even faster into the game so it is important that you have a good game strategy .
  • Weapons and Bases are comprised different properties which are:
    • Power

The overall strength of the component. Traps with higher power are more likely to catch mice.

    • Power Types

Mice have specific weakness to certain Power Types. Using the appropriate weapon in the appropriate area is a critical part of any hunter’s strategy.

    • Power Bonus

The power bonus of both weapon and base are added together and then applied to the total power of the trap, increasing its power.

    • Attraction Bonus

The attraction bonus boosts the attraction power of the bait being used increasing the odds of a mouse approaching a hunter’s trap.

    • Luck

Some components are designed to offer small chances of catching a mouse regardless of the mouse’s strength. It is not uncommon for lucky traps to grant hunters the ability to catch mice that seem far too powerful for their trap.

    • Cheese Effects

Any time a mouse is not attracted to a trap during a hunt there is a chance for the cheese to turn stale. Some components are built using harmful chemicals that increase the odds of spoiling bait. Traps with a fresh cheese effect help reduce the likelihood of cheese turning stale.

    • Special Effects

Some traps / bases comes with special effects. These special effects could vary but include dropping charms, dropping crafting parts, provide extra power/luck/attraction at certain areas, etc.

  • It is important that you understand how each property functions. You will notice as you progress, the mice will start to become stronger (have a higher point value or have a lower attraction rate) and the weapon and base you first purchased will have a hard catching these mice, so there will be a need to purchase or upgrade weapons and bases with a higher performance level.
  • It gets tricky here as having more power or luck is not what you will need all the time. On the contrary, there are mice that requires less power but more luck to catch them, where attraction is the property used when a mouse has an extremely low attraction rate to your trap and its bait.
  • Doing tournaments can yield you tournament tokens which can be used to buy different bases.
  • You can also use this tool to check your trap setup to see if its effective in the area you want to hunt.
