Gnawnian Express Station

Effective traps:

Law: S.L.A.C, S.L.A.C II, Any L.E law trap

  • Before you can travel to Gnawnian Express Station, you need to be at least Lord/Lady. It is also recommended that you get S.L.A.C (150,000 gold) or S.L.A.C II (275,00 gold + 500 Fool's gold) from Claw Shot City Trapsmith.
  • Even with S.L.A.C or S.L.A.C II and with strong charms catch rate will be slightly bad until you get Meteor Prison Core Trap from Fort Rox. But you will have to deal with the terrible catch rate for now. If you have L.E law traps then you do not need to buy any law traps from Claw Shot City or Gnawnian Express Station. Save your Fool's gold for the Fort Rox Battle Summons (25 Fool's gold) which provides assess to Fort Rox.
  • If you are starting out with S.L.A.C, it is recommended that you get S.L.A.C II before proceeding to Fort Rox.
  • It will take roughly 5 72hr trains to get S.L.A.C II. Each 72 hour train rewards 102 Fool's gold.
  • Upon arriving, you will find a train schedule. You need a hunting party to board a train. Trains are also considered specialized tournaments, so you must not be currently participating in one. You do not compete for trophies in trains and trap checks do count towards train points.
  • Your objective here is to earn enough Train Points to hit the team tycoon goal. This is the most efficient way of completing trains. You earn loot rewards based on how many Train Points your party has earned, as well as the total amount of points the train as a whole has earned. But exceeding the tycoon goal will not reward you any better rewards than tycoon rewards.
  • You should hunt here with Gouda cheese as it provide the best attraction if you don't have any Super|Brie+. However, if you do have Super|Brie+ to use then it will provide the best attraction.
  • Doing trains also provides you with decent gold especially if you need it to buy traps and advance into the game.
  • The trip is divided into 3 stages: Supply Depot, Raider River, and Daredevil Canyon.

Supply Depot

    • Objective: Collect Royal Supply Crates and load them.
    • Use Supply Schedule Charms from the charm shoppe would allow you to attract Warehouse Manager mice, which will trigger a supply rush for your entire team. During a Supply Rush, Supply Hoarder mice would be available, which can drop up to 6 supply crates at a time!
    • During Supply Rush, disarm Supply Schedule Charms and arm the best charms you have to increase catch rate for supply hoarder. With S.L.A.C catch rate will be terrible, but S.L.A.C II is decent.
    • Supply Schedule Charms cost 1 Fools gold each.
    • You will be able to smuggle up to 10 crates for another train if you don't load them by the end of the leg. However, if you collect more than 10 crates, those crates will disappear and you will have only 10 crates. So load often.
    • Leaving the train will also cause you to lose those smuggle crates.

Raider River

    • Objective: Repel the raiders by catching them.
    • In this stage, there are 3 additional sub-parts to this stage:
      1. Roof
        • Use Roof Rack Charms when the mouse are attacking the train roof.
      2. Door
        • Use Door Guard Charms when the mouse are attacking the train door.
      3. Wheel
        • Use Greasy Glob Charms when the mouse are attacking the train wheels .
    • Each charm here cost only 1 Fools gold each.
    • Each mouse that you team catches here will reward you with 1 point and repelling 10 mouse here will reward you additional 10 points. You can repel mouse here by collecting Raider-B-Gone Mouse Repellent that is dropped from mouse here.
    • Each successful trap check is guaranteed to reward you with 1 point and 1 Raider-B-Gone Mouse Repellent.
    • You will be able to smuggle up to 10 repellent for another train if you don't use them by the end of the leg. However, if you collect more than 10 repellent, those repellent will disappear similar to stage 1.
    • This stage is rewards the most gold among the 3 stages.

Daredevil Canyon

    • Objective: Collect coal and stoke the engines to make the jump
    • Collect Fuel nuggets from mouse here and stoke the engine.
    • Hoarding more fuel nuggets and stoke will rewards more points. Every nugget above 10 is worth 2 points, and you get an additional bonus for using 20. The maximum nuggets you can hoard is 20.
    • Using Dusty Coal Charms will attract Coal Shoveller mouse, that drops Black Powder Charms, which attracts the Black Powder Thief mouse, which drops Magmatic Crystal Charms, which attracts the Magmatic Golem Mouse. The Black Powder Thief may drop several Fuel Nuggets at a time, and the Magmatic Golem Mouse may drop quite a bounty of them!
    • You will be able to smuggle up to 10 nuggets for another train if you don't use them by the end of the leg. However, if you collect more than 10 nuggets, those nuggets will disappear similar to stage 1.
  • Additionally, you will get crafting materials from here (Iron Pellets, Copper Beads, and Tin Scraps) both as loot and the reward for completing the train. These are used to purchase train traps that have special effect only at specific stages of the train.
    • The Supply Grabber gets bonus effectiveness during the Supply Depot leg.
    • The Bandit Deflector gets bonus effectiveness during the Raider River leg.
    • The Engine Doubler gets bonus effectiveness during the Daredevil Canyon leg.
  • All the traps are better than S.L.A.C or S.L.A.C II but it is not recommended to buy them as you will need to save your Fool's gold for S.L.A.C II or the Fort Rox Battle Summons.

Additional Notes

  • You can look much further ahead of the train schedule if you are using the mobile app. (up to a week)

Summary

  • Get S.L.A.C if you do not have any Law traps. If you have Limited Editions traps, skip both S.L.A.C & S.L.A.C II and arm you best law trap.
  • Use Supply Schedule Charms for Supply Depot. Load as many crates as you can
  • Use Roof Rack Charms for Raider River when mice are attacking the train roof. Defend from as many mice as you can.
  • Use Door Guard Charms for Raider River when mice are attacking the train door. Defend from as many mice as you can.
  • Use Roof Rack Charms for Raider River when mice are attacking the train wheels. Defend from as many mice as you can.
  • Use Dusty Coal Charms for Daredevil Canyon. Hoard and stoke as many fuel nuggets as you can.
