Avoiding Scams & Arguments in MH Trading Groups

As easy as it is to get supplies from Mousehunt trading groups, you are also susceptible to scams and misunderstanding too. Whether you are a new, returning or experience player, scams and misunderstandings can happen in trading groups although it does not occur frequently.

Here are some tips to help you in the trading groups and what you should do in case if you are in a similar situation.

Tips

  • Do not assume you are being scammed if the person you are dealing with does not send you the supplies immediately. Give the person time, they could be busy or sleeping . This game has people from all around the world.

Note: There is usually a time duration for a deal which is around 24 hours. If the deal is not settled within that time you should take note.

  • If a person or deal seems shady, it probably is and best to avoid it. (Cannot stress this enough....)

  • If you are unsure of the person/dealer or the price of the item you want, run a search on the group to see if there is any history on it.

Note: If there is no history on the person trading in the group before, avoid them if possible

  • There is an unwritten rule in Mousehunt which is that lower ranks should send the items first. Thought this is not heavily practiced after you reached certain ranks or if you are a frequent trader.

Note: This is because higher ranks like archduke and above would not risk getting their account banned for this kind of things.

  • The sure way to ensure a safe deal, is to use an intermediary.
    • Usually admins and moderators of the trading groups
    • Someone that both parties trust, If admin / moderators not available.

  • Avoid personal message(PM) / dm(direct message) dealings. Anything that happens outside the trading groups, the admins and moderators can't help you.

What to do?

  • Screenshot all messages and contact you had with the dealer.
    • Important when reporting to MH developers.
    • Admins / moderators may ask for evidence

  • You should not call out a person in public in the trading group if he/she is suspected of scamming or if you have conflict with them.
    • Note: This might get you banned and you will leave with a bad reputation.

  • Do not expect to get your lost items back, the possibility is low.
    • The best the devs can do is banish them or send them to kings stockade.
