Experimentation - part 1
Experimentation - part 2
The topic is different to other topics in SQA courses you have completed before. It is very much focused on building your knowledge and skills in Investigative Biology - how to do Science, how to design experiments, how to analyse results effectively to form valid conclusions. Not only is this Topic hugely important if you progress into any area of Science in the future, but it is central to your Project.
As you go through the information in this Topic, keep in mind what you might like to do for your own AH Biology Project:
What could you investigate?
What type of study will it be?
What type of data will you produce?
How will you carefully design your experiment to ensure a valid conclusion can be drawn?
I have created a set of Topic 1 notes, the content of which is aligned to the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) curriculum. I have included Task boxes that correspond to the tasks throughout the website for this Topic.
Click the pink box below to automatically make your own copy of the notes. Students should be reminded to use additional knowledge gained from this website, class teaching and other reputable sources to supplement these core notes.
