DISEC ended their moderated caucus on the second day of the final MUN session. The committee DISEC passed two resolutions on the topic ‘ Tackling the rise in escalation of genocide, terrorism, and ethnic cleansing due to illicit weapons trade, which got 16 votes from the delegates.
The delegates of Iraq, the UK, Russia, and Ukraine were the sponsors of the resolution. The resolution (1.1) passed with one third of the majority of the delegates to DISEC.
I am very pleased with the resolution presented by the delegates, said the committee chair (Prashuv Thapa). "It may be because it is the final Mun session that the delegates are much more active and energetic today."
The resolution (1.1) had five preambulatory clauses, which include accepting the fact that many casualties occurred in various countries due to illicit trade,nothing about past incidents and misfortunes,reaffirming the fact that many major countries are involved in the current topic,acknowledging that most countries aren't transparent about their weapons trade, and considering the fact that illicit arms affect countries worldwide.
The resolution (1.1) had six operative clauses, which included: Encourages all nations to consider the current situation and take appropriate action, Requests the whole committee to continue peacekeeping and peaceful resolutions rather than combat and conflicts, Urges all countries to not provide financial or military aid to any terrorist groups, Demands all the countries to take action and maintain a healthy state in the committee, Respectfully asks the involved countries to ensure transparency and accountability to prevent any kind of terrorism acts and illegal trades, Suggests countries improve trade regulations to decrease the rate of illicit weapon trade with other countries.
"We are extremely proud and happy that the committee was working extremely well and was extremely active," stated the vice chair of the committee (Saurav Lamsal), who further added, "to be able to host and be a part of this wonderful journey is truly a blessing."
Resolution 1.0 (the crisis resolution) with 18 votes of majority from the delegates The sponsors of Resolution 1.0 were Germany, North Korea, Niger, and Saudi Arabia.

Noting the past efforts of the international committee, reaffirming the fact that many countries are involved in the current topic, expecting compensation, labor, infrastructure building, materials, resources, and a formal apology to the affected countries by both the USA and China,
The resolution had six operative clauses, which include: encourages all the countries to look upon this current situation and act accordingly, Requests the whole committee to continue peacekeeping and peaceful resolutions, Urges both the countries at fault to pay full compensation, provide labor, materials, and resources and also offer formal apologies to all the affected countries. Demands all the countries to take action and maintain a healthy state in the committee; Respectfully, the involved countries should not take harsh action and instead move towards a peaceful future. suggests the extension of apologies by countries like Iraq, the USA, Afghanistan, China, and Nepal to the countries that were wrongfully blamed;
The delegates provided feedback about the dais panel at the committee's closing minutes, and the dais panel read the feedback in front of the committee. Everyone was having fun, and the delegates also brought up a lot of amusing topics. The committee's work was successful.
