"Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes."

Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the Human Rights Council Committee of the Model United Nations, organized at The Excelsior School. We are honored to have you all here, and we are confident that this committee will serve as a platform for meaningful discussions and actions toward promoting and protecting human rights.
I am Yashaswi Dahal, the Chair of the HRC committee, who will confidently provide guidance and support during our discussions. As the Chair, my responsibility is to foster constructive conversations and ensure that every delegate's opinions are acknowledged and valued. I am eager to meet your expectations as an effective chair.
Model United Nations is a platform provided by our school that aims to encourage the real United Nations and its committees, enabling delegates to participate in diplomatic discourse and negotiations. MUN has been one of the most important phases in my life where I got a chance to learn about international affairs, diplomacy, and human rights. It has taught me to express my opinion confidently, which is also a reason why I am standing in front of you as your chair in TESMUN 2023. I also went through phases during my delegations, from a quiet, under confident girl in a corner to a confident girl speaking fearlessly, even with a shaky voice. I understand that it can be intimidating to speak in front of others, but trust me, everyone feels that way at first. The key is to practice and build your confidence over time.
As your chair, I encourage and urge all of you to speak your minds openly and fearlessly during the committee sessions. Your thoughts, opinions, and perspectives are valuable and necessary for fruitful discussions and the formulation of effective solutions.
We're all here to learn and grow together, and I'm excited to see what ideas and solutions we can come up with as a committee. Let's work together to make this a successful and productive experience for everyone involved!
Best of luck, delegates!
Greetings delegate,
"Falsity in intellectual action is intellectual immorality", says Thomas Chrower Chamberlin. MUN is not just a cooperative learning space but also an opportunity to be utilized.
Delegates , Today, Srishma Aryal stands before you as the vice chair of HRC, and I owe it all to the TESMUN. With the help of this program, I gained confidence and broadened my knowledge. Prior to this, I couldn't even stand up for myself, but all my hard work and dedication paid off in the end, as I am running a committee today. Likewise, I encourage all of the delegates to get out of their comfort zone and explore a new revolutionary version of themselves who are capable of doing anything they put their mind to, evolve, and move towards growing in any condition.
Everything will be all right—you know when? When people, just people, stop thinking of the United Nations as a weird Picasso abstraction and see it as a drawing they made themselves.
Best regards,
Srishma Aryal
"Success is not Final; Failure is not fatal; It is the courage to continue that counts."
-Winston S. Churchill
Good day, Delegates! I'm Yujal Tamrakar, the HRC Committee Moderator.
I'm looking forward to a fantastic committee and a fantastic debate from you. In my opinion, MUN is an excellent platform for students to polish abilities such as public speaking, negotiating, and critical thinking. Because MUN is an innovative program that focuses on students' debate and problem-solving skills, you are expected to be active, arguing, and informed of the committee's subjects. As the Moderator of this committee, I shall be fair to all delegates.I will maintain objectivity while attempting to foster an inclusive and courteous atmosphere for all. I'm expecting for a lively debate, open communication, and an active committee from you all, as well as a memorable experience.
I wish you all luck!
