"So anytime you're gettin' low
'Stead of lettin' go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant"

This is a custom where we make the voices heard of people who couldn't speak, a custom where we discuss to protect ourselves, and a custom where we come together to make the world better. This is what TES MUN stands for. Esteemed delegates, I am incredibly happy to welcome each of you to this amazing tradition at our school.
Reflecting on my time as a delegate in the last two years, I can observe my personal growth, learning, and moments of success. I remember when I used to nervously unmute myself just to make a small comment, and now I'm able to confidently participate in debates and share my ideas even with more experienced delegates. TES MUN provided me with a chance to become the confident and fearless speaker I always wanted to be. And today, as I look at each of you, I recognize that very same potential blossoming within all delegates.
In this journey, you're the navigator, the one who steers the course. The power to choose, to decide, rests squarely with you. This process is not about becoming fearless; it's about acknowledging your fears and choosing to rise above them. The same individuals who sit in the Dais panel were once in the very same stage you find yourself in as a delegate: a time of uncertainty and shyness.Yet, as human beings, we’ve got the ability to evolve, to step beyond our comfort zones, and to make choices, especially when facing challenges. The Dais panel made a conscious decision to embrace their fears and uncertainties, leading them to the place they currently occupy. Now, you stand at a crossroads where you have the opportunity to shape your own path, a path that could lead you not only to a particular role within the MUN but also to a place where you're a truer, stronger version of yourself than you were yesterday.
The placard you have on your hand is like a magic wand. The more you use it, the more magic it will create. Just believe in yourself, challenge your fear and raise your placard- delegates, you can and you will!
