As a result of global cooling, the earth's good luck from relative warmth during the calidocene and ariducene has ran dry. Now, there are no longer just dry icy tundras, but full on inhospitable glacial wasteland. The glaciers reach down to the 50th parallel north and the 75th parallel south. As expected of ice ages, the sea levels have also shrunk.
This era lasts for 25 million years, ending in 50 million ad
Antarctica and South America have now fully connected and closed the Drake passage. Antarctica hasn't been fully frozen again due to wind currents and its northern movement.
As for Oceania, the pacific islands have returned and are slowly being colonized. The Irwinian continent has shifted north and merged with Afroeurasia, causing a biotic interchange and creating a large inland sea. Speaking of Africa, the Adzanian subcontinent has gotten larger and centered itself in the middle of the Indian ocean.
In Afroeurasia, the deserts have shrunk and grassland has gained more ground. Small oases have formed in the Sahara and have helped facilitate the return of life to the desert. The salt flats have received a lot more rain and have turned into brine lakes.
North America has also moved west, with Alaska ramming into Chukotka. A large mountain range has formed between the two continents, reaching heights similar to those of the modern Himalayas. Furthermore, the two continents are connected by a glacier bridge.
