As the Ariducene winds blow salt from the great flats into the eastern mediterranean, the organisms must adapt. The Morezaba (order maribufo) have taken full advantage of their plight in order to transform into something greater. They are descended from the lilaciåce of the calidocene, who were already salt tolerant amphibians. They can be found in the seawort fields of the Indo-pacific, which have grown to be more common in the southern hemisphere.
They start out as small purple eggs developing on seawort. They taste horrible and let predators know that. The purple coloration is due to the diet of their parents, which is made up of murex snails and their anti-microbial purple dye. They hatch and spend their entire life in the seawort fields.
Tadpoles feast on algae and detritus and when they become pollywogs, they move on to small invertebrates. Eventually when they become adults, they develop the throat muscles necessary to crush snails.
Within the order Maribufo there are three families. The family Aeternaranulidae contains neotenic tadpoles. The family Immaturabufidae are partially neotenic and only develop to be polliwogs. Salbufidae are the more traditional morezaba with a complete life cycle. They have hydrodynamic round bodies with long splayed fingers and long limbs
