Following the End Holocene Extinction event the Calidocene begins and will last for the next 15 million years.
This epoch is characterized by a very humid climate with rainforests and swamps covering most of the world. In this new world the surviving species recolonize the planet and life becomes more diverse then it used to be before humanity came onto the scene.
Most of the worlds deserts transform into grasslands or forests.
The earths sea levels rise and and engulf lots of islands and lowland coastlines. Flooding rivers create vast marshes. Rising sea levels also engulf panama but not completely, the Americas are connected by an island chain that only strong swimmers or rafting animals can use to cross between north and south America.
All glaciers completely disappear. Antarctica thaws out and becomes covered with grasslands and forests.
Tectonics change a lot during this epoch too. Australia merges with papua new guinea, half of the south island splits off of the rest of new zealand and drifts south. The Americas move further into the Pacific. East africa splits from the rest of the continent, rising sea levels and tectonic activity form the Azanian islands. Arabia connects with asia. India pushes further north and the himalayas grow taller. Africa pushes north into the mediterranean.
