Art and entry by Tortoiseman
Sloth crayfish
Diet: fruits, insects and snails
Size: 7.5 cm
Range: North American saltree forest
Bio: this crustacean mainly spends its time in the canopy of the saltree forest, only descending to the water to reproduce. The females will carry their eggs by curling up their tails like this female shown here. Mostly colored brown and dark green, but some individuals can be blue or yellow. They have a few predators such as bungee snakes and birds, but can defend themselves with their formidable pincers which can easily snap a twig in half with almost little effort.
