Assignment 1
Examining the site's climate and surroundings is one of the first stages to maximising the advantages offered by the particular location. This assignment lays out the fundamental principles of excellent passive design, including tactics for maximising sunshine, orientation, shading, insulation, ventilation, and airflow. All of them contribute to creating an interior space that is cosy and supports the building's function. The responsiveness of a structure to its site setting is a key factor in determining its architectural passive design. Site planning and orientation, daylighting, facade design, natural ventilation, thermal insulation, and strategic landscaping are all significant variables.
Objectives:
To evaluate selected strategies' use in various scenarios critically.
To examine the theories and fundamentals guiding passive green building design.
Task:
Two case studies are chosen among a group of five people, and their use of passive sustainable design principles are contrasted:
Project Outcome: Poster
Project Outcome: Booklet
Assignment 2:
Through improved site planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal, a green building focuses on enhancing resource efficiency while lowering the impact of the structure on human health and the environment over the course of its life. In order to lessen the overall influence of the built environment on its surroundings, green buildings should be created and maintained.
Objectives:
To examine the theories and fundamentals guiding passive green building design.
Incorporating knowledge of sustainable design principles into the creation of architectural design.
Our final architecture studio assignment requires that we simultaneously design passive and active green building strategies.
Project Outcome:
Reflection:
It is now time to put all of the analyses from the previous assignment to use in our own studio project. Learning about someone else's project is one thing; applying it to your own is quite another. With the foundation and fundamentals covered in Assignment 1 and the tropical building study, I was able to evaluate the possibilities for incorporating passive green design principles into my studio project. I get knowledge on how to combine the green strategy with user requirements and the desired spatial quality.
