Assessment 2

Task and Overview:

For Assessment 2, we were given an individual assessment where we have to analyse the house we are currently residing. The task was to analyse the house energy usage, U-value, materials and etc. After the analysation, we have to find a new strategies to reduce the usage of energy in the house. The assessment is to be done in an e-report.

Assessment 2

Reflection:

This report on energy audit was very interesting to me because I had never thought about doing a report on the energy

consumption, water consumption, façade, the internal and exterior thermal, and the calculation of energy and bill. Even though

this residence I am currently residing in is temporary, I can use the knowledge I have learned and carry it to my family

house and design any type of structure.

While I was doing this report, I have not realized that we were consuming a lot of energy and wasting money when we were able

to minimize it. However, a few of the residents were doing well in minimizing the energy usage, Bedroom 1 should have used less

amount of aircon as it is the one that consumes the most. Even the façade of the building was done poorly where bedroom 4

blocked out most of the sunlight and natural air into the unit.

I hope that the knowledge I have taken in this report will be able to make me a better designer with sustainability in mind.
