Designing with Architectural Principles, Materiality, Context and User

Task and Overview:

For Project 3, its an individual assignment where the design project teaches students the fundamentals of design principles, processes, and approaches for creating ideas, developing designs, and translating terminologies and language. The site is located in Taman Wawasan Recreational Park in Puchong, we were tasked with creating a solitary retreat. 'A structure that is created for a clean and healthy living and working environment with access to nature to increase the immune system and improve psychological wellbeing,' according to solitary haven. The construction should have a maximum built-up area of 100sqm and be able to comfortably host two persons, including yourself and a family member, in a brief period of lonely time.

Reflection:

For my final project, I had a very hard time doing it as this was a big project where we learn how to analyze a site and the fact that I was not there physically had made it tougher. This is because I wasn't able to picture it and feel the spatial feeling of the site I had chosen. However, I was able to create a design that was able to blend in with nature and created a spatial experience that is unique to the site. Doing this project taught me to list out the things I have to do because project management was messy and I would like to be able to improve my management better for future project.
