Iron Man Expo Attack

Intro

Welcome to the Stark Expo, where you’ll board boats and join Tony Stark in an effort to fight off drones and protect rare vibranium.

This attraction will take place in a non-canon universe where events like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, or Avengers: Endgame never happened similar to attractions like Guardians of Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle, and Avengers Campus at California Adventure.

As not to decrease significance of Avengers: Endgame being Robert Downey Junior’s last performance as Tony Stark, Nolan North, who played Tony in the Avengers game and other cartoons, will voice the titular armored hero.

Guests enter the Stark Expo courtyard, and in the middle is a large modern replica of the planet Earth, which has been a staple of the Stark Expo since Howard Stark started the event in 1943 until it ended in 1974. Fortunately, Tony Stark revived the Expo and it’s been going strong ever since.

They wind through a garden full of Japanese garden trees and exotic plants as guests enter a large glass dome, which houses the Ocean Pavilion. The Ocean Pavilion is the star attraction of this year’s expo as Tony Stark has cooked up something like never before. The queue is filled with some of Tony Stark’s most iconic armors as Dum-E waves to guests. A screen displays all of the activities available at the Expo like the Pym Technologies display, the Worldwide Engineering Brigade’s display, and even a chance to meet Tony Stark as an image of Robert Downey Junior and Stan Lee is displayed.

Even the People Mover passes above the queue as riders look down and see the brilliant displays of modern ocean technology.

We enter the Pre-Show, where an audio-animatronic of Iron Man greets guests on a stage. He greets us and tells us about the new program called V.I.R.U.S (Vibranium Initiative for Resolving Unhealthy Sealife) where a Vibranium alloy is brought to the ocean floor. The vibranium will release a chemical that will improve the health of both the ocean life and the Coral Reefs. Suddenly, the alarms go off as we’re notified that Andy Serkis’s Ulysses Klaue (the mercenary seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther) is attempting to steal the vibranium using weaponized drones. Tony tells F.R.I.D.A.Y to take us to the tour boats and to keep us out of trouble.

The Ride

We reach the boarding area as Gweneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts is displayed onto screens above. She tells us that Tony needs our help and an emergency protocol will activate repulser guns on our boats. She signs off as an instructional safety video starring Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan tells us how to buckle in, exit the vehicle, etc. We exit the dome and begin our tour as trouble quickly arises.

We exit the boarding area and are completely surrounded by weaponized drones. Tony appears on the intercom and tells us to shoot the drones to disable them. Score boards on the boats tell us how many drones we’ve disabled.

We make our way through the first wave of drones as we enter the Pym Technologies display as drones cause large Ants to break free and cause smaller items to enlarge (including some drones).

Heading into the Stark Industries exhibit called “The Art of Armors” where Tony shows off some of his best suits. The drones damage some of the suits and architecture of the exhibit to which Tony sighs and says, “That sounded expensive”.

Now in SHIELD’s “Hall of Heroes”, we battle drones while artifacts like Cap’s shield, Black Widow’s wrist rockets, and Hawkeye’s arrows are on display.

Tony tells us that Klaue has reached the vibranium as we exit back “outside” and face a large body of water represented on a screen. Iron Man rises up from the water battling Klaue in a mech suit similar to Iron Monger from Iron Man. Tony tells us to aim for certain weak points in Klaue’s suit to stop him as Tony deals the final blow in the form of miniature missiles.

We continue on as an audio animatronic Iron Man tells us to enjoy the rest of our day at the Stark Expo as Klaue is seen getting apprehended. As we’re entering the boarding area, we hear Tony say “Make sure Nick Fury never finds out” as we exit our vehicles.

The Stark Expo Store

Welcome to the gift shop at the Stark Expo where you can purchase merchandise featuring the armored hero himself, Iron Man. Shirts, toys, plushes and more are available at the Stark Expo Store as a scale model of the original Stark Expo stands in the middle of the shop.

You can even digitally create your own suit on a screen and control things like the speed, durability, and color. After you’ve created the suit, you can see how it matches up against other peoples’ suits or even Iron Man villains like Justin Hammer, Whiplash, or Iron Monger.

Inside the store, you can assemble your own Arc Reactor as well. Using assorted pieces on a continuously moving platform, you can make your own Arc Reactor for 29.99. It will even light up and make noises.

(Inspired by the Droid Depot at Galaxy’s Edge)

(Different types of available Arc Reactors)

In the back of the store is a not-so-hidden trick door that leads to a whole new store called:

avengers outfitters

SHIELD needs to keep an eye on Tony Stark (who knows what could happen considering Whiplash attacked the 2010 Expo) so they’ve set up a hidden base in the back of the store where some of the Avengers’ most iconic suits are on display. SHIELD uniforms are for sale as well as replica costumes of some of your favorite heroes like Spider-Man, Ant-Man, and the Winter Soldier!
