Maara Ataahua Trails

Written by @PerGron

Located in the central part of the island, the Maara Ataahua Trails are a winding series of trails through the four central biomes of Motu Wairua.

Baobab Savannah

Lowland Jungle

Rock Forest

Spiny Forest

The trails wind and weave amongst each other, having no straight or clear path through it. As you meander through, there are signs, poiting out the flora and fauna found throughout the island. While fictional plants such as the Yuma plant are made of concrete and other synthetic materials, many of the plants found here are native to the Indian Ocean Islands, including plants from Madagascar, Mauritius, Maldives, Christmas Island, Sri Lanka, and even Indonesia. Each of these plants have written up biological signs, letting people walking through the island learn as they admire the foliage.

The entrance to the trails near Merchant Traders features the Spiny Forest, while the entrance near the Siren Escape has the Rock Forest. In the center of the trails are the Baobab Savannah and Lowland Jungle biomes. All of these locations have small water features, allowing for wildlife of the rivers of Motu Wairua to be featured here as well. Each biome features animatronics of different animals made up for the island as seen below.

Guests can spend as much or as little time as they want within the Maara Ataahua walking trails, with multiple entrance and exit points throughout the island. While not the E-ticket attraction meant to thrill crowds, those looking for a calm and relaxing walk through some gorgeous natural scenrey and to see some amazing and fantastical wildlife will be sure to enjoy the Maara Ataahua Walking Trails.
