This section presents documentary evidence of the author’s academic participation, presentations, and knowledge dissemination relating to sustainable technology, recycling innovation, and indigenous technological practices. Over several decades, these ideas have been shared under the auspices of universities, government bodies, and reputed national and international organisations through seminars, workshops, and conferences.
1. International Conferences and Workshops
The author participated in an international workshop sponsored by the Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver, Canada, and served as a resource person in the international workshop on Designing Curriculum Framework for the International Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration, organised by the Centre for Adult Continuing Education and Extension, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. This programme aimed at strengthening adult education initiatives and promoting extension activities, particularly in the sphere of job-oriented learning.
Another noted academic engagement was participation in the International Conference on Innovations and Challenges in Basic Sciences, Linguistics and Humanities, hosted by Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda. In this conference, the author presented a paper titled “Development and Dissemination of Appropriate Technologies for Green Manufacturing and Sustainability.” The session was moderated and evaluated by Dr. Archana Pandita, Senior Professor at Amity International University, who expressed strong appreciation for the conceptual breadth and technical relevance of the work. It was formally recorded that the presentation was inspiring and impactful to the assembled international academic audience.
The author also presented at the International Conference on Science, Engineering and Technological Innovations, where the paper titled “Advancing Indigenous and Recycling Technological Innovations for Sustainable, Eco-Friendly Manufacturing” was delivered. The conference was organised by the International Scientific Research Association, Eurasian Research Organisation, and Research Culture Society, with academic support from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Carmel Engineering College. The presentation further strengthened interdisciplinary dialogue on sustainable manufacturing and environmentally responsible innovation.
2. National Conferences, Seminars, and Academic Engagements
He was invited by the Government of Kerala to present his ideas on sustainability and indigenous technology before an invited panel of distinguished scientists as part of the National Technology Day celebrations conducted by the Department of Science, Technology and Environment at Sasthra Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram. The programme was held at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology.
Another notable contribution was the presentation of a paper titled “Relevance of Appropriate Technology in the Context of Globalisation” at the 25th Indian Social Science Congress organised by the Indian Academy of Social Sciences. The presentation received wide academic appreciation. Professor Dr. Michael J. Lenaghan (USA), Chair of Teaching Excellence at Miami Dade College and Board Chairperson of the Global Peace Foundation, personally recorded his commendation and presented it to the author.
The author also presented a paper at the National Seminar on “Role of Government in the Era of Globalisation” organised by the Postgraduate Department of Economics, S.D. College, Alappuzha.
In addition, he served as Coordinator, Resource Person, and Moderator in the National Seminar on Natural Disasters and Management Strategies conducted at Carmel Polytechnic College.
Another presentation was delivered on “Eco-friendly Technologies for Sustainable Manufacturing and Environmental Preservation” at the National Conference on Interdisciplinary Perspectives of Emerging Trends in Computing, organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Carmel Engineering College.
Beyond these formally recorded events, the author has delivered numerous presentations in public and academic forums addressing themes such as sustainable technology, recycling innovation, and the philosophy of “Use of the Used” — transforming waste into value. These engagements were widely appreciated by informed audiences and contributed to public awareness and discourse on eco-friendly technological practices.
