Prof. V. Narayanan Namboothiri was born on 13 April 1954. He obtained his M.A. and M.Phil. degrees in Economics and served as Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at S.D. College until his retirement in 2010.
He is the recipient of numerous national and international recognitions, including two patents granted by the Government of India. His contributions span the fields of sustainable and appropriate technology, recycling-based innovations, creative education, and social awareness programmes. He has developed a large number of innovative machines, devices, and eco-friendly products, besides conducting workshops and awareness classes related to creativity and reuse technologies.
Prof. Namboothiri has also been actively engaged in literature, Malayalam song studies, and creative educational activities. He is currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Humanities at Carmel College of Engineering and Technology, Alappuzha.

പ്രൊഫ. വി. നാരായണന് നമ്പൂതിരി 1954 ഏപ്രില് 13-ന് ജനിച്ചു. ധനതത്വശാസ്ത്രത്തില് എം.എ., എം.ഫില്. ബിരുദങ്ങള് നേടി. എസ്.ഡി. കോളേജില് ധനതത്വശാസ്ത്ര വിഭാഗം അദ്ധ്യാപകനായും വകുപ്പുമേധാവിയായും സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ച ശേഷം 2010-ല് വിരമിച്ചു.
ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവണ്മെന്റിന്റെ രണ്ടു പേറ്റന്റുകള് ഉള്പ്പെടെ ദേശീയ-അന്തര്ദേശീയ തലങ്ങളിലെ അനേകം അംഗീകാരങ്ങളും പുരസ്കാരങ്ങളും നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അനുയോജ്യ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ, പുനരുപയോഗം, കുട്ടികളുടെ ക്രിയാത്മകതാ വികസനം എന്നിവയെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി നിരവധി യന്ത്രങ്ങള്, ഉപകരണങ്ങള്, പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങള്, ശില്പശാലകള് എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
സാഹിത്യം, ഗാനപഠനം, സൃഷ്ടിപരമായ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങള് എന്നിവയിലും സജീവ സാന്നിധ്യമുള്ള അദ്ദേഹം ഇപ്പോള് ആലപ്പുഴ പുന്നപ്രയിലെ കാര്മ്മല് എന്ജിനീയറിംഗ് കോളേജില് പ്രൊഫസറായും ഹ്യുമാനിറ്റീസ് വകുപ്പുമേധാവിയായും പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചുവരുന്നു.
