Sunny Haven Residential Services uses a company, SafeDose, as an online
training option for completing the
32-hour Medication Administration requirement.
(Please understand SHRS does NOT pay for this. If you or your Provider chose for you to use this instead of what SHRS offers, SHRS does not cover this courses charges, please speak to your Provider)
The SafeDose Medication Assistance Training Program is designed to prepare caregivers to perform their duties and responsibilities effectively. Assisting with the proper administration of medications is very important in helping the clients/individuals of the facility to control illnesses and to feel better.
It is necessary that each caregiver completes this training and performs each task acceptably. The program’s content is divided into 42 Tasks, which are logically grouped into 5 Duty Areas. The tasks have been validated by practitioners as representing knowledge, skills, or attitudes needed for successful employment as a medication assisting caregiver.
The program requires you to complete two parts:
1. Online Training-complete 5 online training modules
2. In-person Training-complete an in-person skills review/test with a SafeDose nurse.
-------------------------------------------
Online Training…The great part is that the online training can be started and stopped at any time, allowing you to leave and return to where you had previously left off!
The training videos consist of PowerPoint presentations with voice-overs and demonstration videos
There are five modules for the online proportion.
At the end of each training module, a competence test is given.
A score of 80% or higher is needed to pass each competence test before you can move on to the next module.
In-person Training… After all online training is completed, a required skills test will need to be completed in person with a SafeDose nurse.
You can contact Linda Coley at Linda.coley@iddtraining.pro to set up a meeting with a SafeDose nurse to complete all skills reviews and testing in person.
(You are required to schedule this as soon as possible after completing the online requirements.)
Once the in-person skills assessment has been completed and signed off by the SafeDose nurse, you must upload the signed paperwork to your online portal.
Once your skills sheet has been received and processed by SafeDose, you will receive your completed/passing certificate in YOUR email.
You will need to forward the completed certificate to the office email, office.sunnyhavenrs@gmail.com, for your records to be updated.
