Instructions for Completing the Federal Background Check

All new hires at Sunny Haven, including Providers and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), must complete a Federal Background Check as part of the pre-employment screening process. This check is required to ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals we support and to comply with state and federal regulations. Below are the step-by-step instructions for completing this process.

Step 1: Schedule Fingerprinting for the Federal Background Check

Before beginning the federal background check process, you must:
✅ Receive authorization from Sunny Haven’s Human Resources Department to initiate the background check. (which you have 😉)

Step 2: Schedule Process and Information you will need

To successfully complete the online application, please have the following information readily available:

✅Fieldprint Code: FPSunnyHavenResServAppl          (This confuses a lot of people because it says "code")

Important Note:

Adherence to these procedures is essential for compliance with federal regulations.

Please ensure that you bring the two forms of ID to your fingerprinting appointment.

Step 3: Attend Your Fingerprinting Appointment

Bring the following required documents to your fingerprinting appointment:

✅ A valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or state-issued ID).
✅Make sure you show up to your appointment on time, if you cannot make it, you will need to go online and rescheule the appointment, HR cannot do this for you.

What to Expect During Fingerprinting:

• You will be asked to verify your identity using your photo ID.

• Your fingerprints will be scanned electronically and submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for processing.

• The process takes about 10–15 minutes.

Step 4: Confirmation & Submission

• Once fingerprinting is completed, you may receive a receipt or confirmation number.

• Your fingerprints will be submitted to the FBI and processed within 5–10 business days (may take longer if you have a state or federal record). Results will be sent directly to Sunny Haven's Human Resources Manager.
