Berrykins & Berry Princess

In 1985 six Berrykin dolls were introduced. These dolls were dressed in fancier clothing and had much longer hair than the previous dolls.

They did not come with pets. Instead, each had a critter called a Berrykin. Berrykins had a little pouch that contained a solid fruit scented perfume.

One new doll was introduced as part of this line. Her name was Banana Twirl. She is often considered to be the rarest of the Strawberry Shortcake line of dolls, but in recent years she can be easier to find than the Mint Tulip or Orange Blossom Berrykin dolls.

The Berry Princess was also introduced at this time. She was the "keeper of the Berrykins". Her dress had pockets that the Berrykins fit into. She came with a stand, wand, and her own perfume pouch shaped like a paint pallet.
