Some are fairly common and some extremely rare. Some of the rare ornaments can reach prices in excess of $100 a piece.

There is also a round version of this ornament. It is not not marked American Greetings, but does have a label as if it were commercially made.

I don't know if this ornament was handmade or made for the tourist industry...it is very well made. If anyone has any information, please let me know!
