1.0 Title
2.0 Purpose: An ad hoc, one time group of domain specialists and resource people who have been selected and have agreed to meet in a single location for the purpose of analyzing a proposal or a problem to create a solution (if the problem has a quick solution – in which case the forum was a mistake) or a plan to develop a solution – which will probably involve some a different mixture of people and resources.
3.0 Usage:
note: Getting a bunch of people together in a room to solve a problem is costly, time-consuming, disruptive as well as notoriously unproductive for some members of the group, as well as for getting the best results. Thus the rules of engagement for a “forum” need to be well understood.
“virtual forum”: is a forum with multiple locations and time zones connected by broadband and faces even more challenges – but also some advantages beyond mere cost.(Like people who see they aren’t contributing can voluntarily leave without guilt or making a Grand Exit.)
