Here is where answers to email questions will be posted for the benefit of ALL.
Q: You mentioned that their is boundary or line between COACHING and THERAPY: i.e. encountering a 'self esteem' or 'emotional crisis'... how do we work with that in the context of coaching?
A: We will be doing the 'WiseMind Process' for removing obstacles -- on all levels of mental, emotional, physical, etheric. EXPERIENCE, RELEASE, TRANSFORM. This is one process that can be used in the situation you are speaking about. This is a tool that can be coached in a session -- (takes about 10-15 minutes) and can be taught to your clients -- and it is a skill that can be learned and used in almost ALL situations.
Also, self-worth and self-esteem, will be covered in the Positive Self Image process also coming up.
How to create and re-form the self-esteem? (Vision, Wants and Desires, Future Self)
What is self-worth? What does that mean to a client? (Wise Mind inquiry).
How to heal and strengthen self - 'worth'. (Wise Mind, Positive Self Image, Acknowledging Success on a daily basis. Success Pattern and a Failure Pattern -- you will see these unfold week by week for yourself -- and as you work with your clients, you will see theirs - obstacles, excuses, not on time, blaming, etc.)
Attention..how and where are you are putting your VALUABLE ATTENTION and ENERGY.
You will (in the next few weeks) have all of these processes to draw upon by the time we are done. And the 'sequencing' is something that the Coach can determine when setting up a program for a client. (How to set up that program? How will I, as the coach know, what is the program? This will also be covered soon).
In addition:
If you are certified as a Hypnotherapist or other therapist... then you may want to set up a specific appointment and work with 'that' specific issue that comes up. ie. deep grief, loss, emotional trauma, habit control, addiction. And WiseMind can come up with the answers... and the coaching process then becomes supporting and accountability plans and programs for the client.
The line between therapy and coaching: while it can be defined along a timeline as Present moving into future vision (pictures of the future)... for Coaching. And Therapy as going to the Past in order to be in the Present. And, yet, there are times when as Coaches we touch into the Past...for 'recognition' or 'cognition' or 'understanding' building momentum --- we don't spend a whole session working in the past -- or do the change work during the session 'in the past." We touch the past and then move it to present and into 'what do you want?' or pictures of the future self.
In other words... as a therapist there may be a 'holding of a belief that only by undoing the past can the present or future be whole'. In coaching there is a 'holding of a belief that by putting your attention toward 'what you want to create'... and the more attention you put on what you want to create moving forward...then that picture is created...Attention placed on that new picture and a plan and program to move toward that vision... honoring success steps along the way builds self esteem; and because where you put your attention is what manifests. (If you put all of your attention on the past..you create more of that past. If you put your attention on the vision or pictures of the future, one creates that. Soon, the past falls away almost unnoticed.
In coaching, there is focus put on the past in order to determine what it is you want now. The past incident as a reference point to determine -- what is it that you now want.
Example: someone is 30 pounds overweight and they want to lose 30 pounds... your job is to have them 'live into what they want' and 'vision' their new self as thin and lean... and write a positive self image of how they will feel... how they will look.... how others will see them... feeling beautiful and attractive. Daily, they read or affirm or put ATTENTION on this new IMAGE that they are becoming. If a craving comes up (an old trigger)... replace that craving with a 'new skill' or a new healthy food trigger... or use the WiseMind in the moment, use Tapping, read their new positive self image, ...as a way to move the energy of the craving through..(all tools we will be using in coaching).
Therapy would take them back into the past, why did you start eating like you did? go back and see what 'hook' is there and focus on that... All of that is valid...except, we are not putting 100% of the Attention into Present...and into the future possibility of a new self image, new self esteem (because now they can be successful) in releasing weight..etc..
