Review
There aren't many options for a Wyoming race, so that's why I picked Jackson Hole
Getting to and from Wyoming was extremely difficult
My flight from Morgantown to Chicago was delayed for 12 hours, so I left in the evening
There aren't many flights to Jackson Hole from Chicago, so I already knew I had to spent the night in Chicago to and from the marathon
Getting back to WV was more annoying since I had to fly to Denver first, then fly to Chicago
Since my flight to Morgantown was in the afternoon, I got to hang out in Chicago throughout the day at least
The expo was in a smallish building, so packet pickup was fast and easy!
My friend from Philadelphia ran the half-marathon and he rented a car from Salt Lake City! I'm glad I was able to ride around with him, plus we shared a hotel room!
This is a cupless race, so you need to either buy a reusuable cup at the expo or bring your own
The marathon starts at the elk antler archers in the town square and we ran for a few miles within Jackson Hole
Around mile 4, we run on the community pathway system. From miles 5-13 we run throughout Teton County
Around mile 15, we run along Highway 22 and towards Snake River. The view from the bridge over the river was great! Tons of runners stopped to take pictures!
Around mile 20, we run straight towards Teton Village
At the Teton Village finish line, we had the opportunity to participate in the Oktoberfest party!
VERY EXPENSIVE!Â
Flying to Jackson Hole is expensive!Â
Flying to Salt Lake City and renting a car is expensive!Â
Getting a room in either Jackson Hole or Teton Village is expensive!
Overall this is a wonderful race! If I had more money and/or lived closer, I would definitely do this again!
