Review
I picked this race because I loved going to Berlin last year, so I wanted to do another international marathon
My mom wanted to go with me because she wanted to hang out with me!
Getting to Amsterdam was annoying since I flew to Chicago from Morgantown, then Dublin, then Amsterdam
The expo was at the RAI Amsterdam (aka a convention center) and it was huge! They really want all out to make this a big event
There was history from the first races, posters from Olympians, and a speaker series
The race started and ended at the Olympic Stadium
The course ran on a similar route to the Olympic games in 1928 along the Amstel River
The out and back along the Amstel River was approximately 8 miles (13 km)
The course was beautiful since I didn't know Amsterdam had various farms outside of the city
We also run through Rijksmuseum, which is the famous passage which connects Amsterdam city center with the south of AmsterdamÂ
Then we run through Vondelpark, the largest park in Amsterdam. We run through the park towards the end of the race
The finish line was packed!
My mom managed to get a few pictures of me right after I crossed the finish line
There were food trucks that had burgers, chips (aka fries), and beer
Overall this is was a fun race! I definitely could see myself doing this one again, especially since the weather was perfect and the course is mostly flat!
