This is held during MLK weekend, so it was beneficial to have that Monday already off of work so I could fly back home
There aren't many flights to Bermuda, so my only real option was to fly from Newark
The only good flight to Newark was from Pittsburgh
The expo was at the Hamilton Princess Hotel
The expo included coffee, tea, water, cake, and rum tastings!
The rum tastings were hosted by Goslings Rum
The first event was the 1 mile run on Friday night
We started and ended on front street. This went by fast and it was tons of fun!
There was post food and beer
The second event was the 10K on Saturday morning
We started at the National Sports Center. I saw tons of Marathon Maniacs here, so I fet like I was amonst friends!
This was extremely hilly!Â
The afterparty was fun since there were hotdogs, beer, and canned cocktails
Additionally, there was a fun group of dancers wearing unique Bermudians outfits!
The third event was the marathon (or half marathon) on Sunday morning
The marathoners used a ferry to get to the Royal Naval Dockyard. The half marathoners started at the Hamilton Princess Hotel
This was extremely hilly (over 1200 ft in elevation gain)!
Since we were running along the shore for most of the race, the wind kept blowing towards us and made it harder to run!
The volunteers were 10/10! Volunteers were very helpful and motivational!Â
The afterparty had a lot to offer!Â
Beer, canned cocktails, ice cream, and hotdogs!
There was also an opportunity to have a massage!
Definitely not a way to BQ/PR because of the heat, hilly, and strong winds! Put this is definitely a good idea as a vacation race
