This was the 25th anniversary of this race, so I had to sign up!Â
My initial plan to hit up both the St. Louis expo and the OKC expo failed because of my flight delay from Chicago
I was supposed to land Thursday afternoon in St. Louis, get a rental car, head to the expo, and drive to OKC (7-ish hours). However, I landed Thursday night, picked up the rental car, and drove to OKC (I arrived around 2:00 am)
I ended up contacting someone on my pace team and she got my bib and packet for me! I had to drive back to St. Louis after picking up my stuff from OKC, and got back around 8:30 PM
After St. Louis, I had a flight, and I landed around 11:00 pm. I made it to my hotel around midnight, so I had next-to-no sleep (ugh)
We started at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum
There is a church that had free pancakes, coffee, juice, and sausage! I loved the food!
We ran downtown, Bricktown, past the State Capitol, through northeast Oklahoma City and through some of the city’s most beautiful and historic neighborhoods
There were 168 banners, which had the names of one of those killed in the Oklahoma City bombingÂ
Spectators came out and cheered us on, and I didn't feel like there were dead spots!
The course was hilly, plus HOT and HUMID
Because of the weather and course, I walked most of it!
I had TONS of alcohol! I was drunk before mile 5!
I wouldn't use this to BQ/PR because it's hilly and the weather can be HOT!
