Review
This is held during Thanksgiving weekend, so it's a good way to run off the extra calories!
Since I was already in Cleveland for Thanksgiving, I flew out of the airport and into Melbourne
The expo was at Taylor Park
The bib pickup was fast since there were tons of volunteers and tables. There were various tables based on race distance and last name
Afterwards, we went to a section to pickup our shirts
We could check out some merch on top of the stage
We started at Taylor Park
Buses picked us up from the host hotels at 4:00 and 4:30 (EARLY) since the race started at 6:00
There were about 1,000 people total for the marathon!
The course itself was mostly flat, with minor elevation gainsÂ
The first half is an out-and-back along the Indian River Drive. Then the second half is an out-and-back along the Rockledge Drive
The half-marathoners only ran the south half of the course
Speaking of the south half of the course, there were TONS of spectators with alcohol!
I got really drunk since I stopped at each alcohol stop twice
One stop had pretzels, bacon, sausage, and cookies
The volunteers were 10/10! Volunteers were very helpful and motivational!Â
My favorite signs were about cake at an aid station; however I was let down
The afterparty had a lot to offer!Â
Beer, muffins, pancakes, pizza, chips, granola bars, bananas, pretzels, and hard boiled eggs
Since there was a ton of pizza, I was able to take an entire box home
It's possible to use this as a BQ/PR opportunity since the course is flat and it wasn't humid
