Where Is the Love?

The song addresses problems such as violence, terrorism, gangs, racism, hate and anger. It also emphasizes the lack of values like fairness, equality, understanding, and unity. With the words “feelin’ under” and “feelin’ down” it wants to refer to the emptiness and despair resulting from the lack of love. However, focuses on the fact that love is the greatest value that can overcome this world of pain. 

The lyric tells the fact that the world is going through a lot of pain, discrimination, violence, abuse and hate. It also refers to the events of 9/11 as the song was released two years after it happened. Moreover, the song can represent the problems of today as well, and it has a message that we should spread love and not hate.
