“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.
You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you,
and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt:
I am the Lord your God."
Leviticus 19:33-34 ESV
Recently one of our more involved students left San Diego for good. Rahul came from India to study at UCSD and found some solid friends in the Bridges community. Rahul is such a warm, caring guy and we will miss him dearly. He even taught us how to make Masala Chai.
Lauren and I were lucky enough to grab some lunch with him the day before he flew out and I got to give him a ride to the airport at 5:00 AM! During that last lunch, though, we were able to walk him through a ministry tool designed specifically for people from South Asian countries, which includes India. It's called "Mountain of God". We feel like he was grasping the information well and we hope this is a planted seed that will grow and grow as time goes on, leading him to even better understand who Jesus truly is.
Please pray for Rahul.
Please continue to pray for these international dinners as they provide opportunities to serve and connect with students from all over the world. Pray that those connections lead to Gospel conversations and decisions for Him.
Sam Davis has focused on international student ministry since 2010 and is on staff with Cru and Bridges International in San Diego, CA. His passion for leading others into a close relationship with Jesus is shown in his general love for people and focus on discipleship.
Sam and his wife, Gloria, love to travel, meet people, eat great food, and hike.
