Like everyone else, due to Covid, we have had to make some changes and do things a little differently. I'm excited to say that God has been gracious throughout this whole thing. We have a lot going on.
You think a pandemic can stop the gospel? No way!
Right before Covid hit we were having a Bible study every other week on campus. We've had to change our strategy up a bit to reflect a few things: The spring semester ended (sending some students home) and Covid-19 hit (even more students heading home). So, we transitioned to Zoom video Bible studies. You guys, I want you to hear me here... like, really listen because this is pretty important and super true... GOD IS SO GOOD!
We went from 1 study every 2 weeks to 1 study every week!
We went from only students in San Diego to students anywhere on the planet!
Normally, when summer hits the Bible studies end until the next semester, but the studies haven't stopped all summer!
God really does work in mysterious ways. Please keep praying with us for God to use these studies in powerful ways.
Our ministry has grown steadily over the last few years, reaching hundreds of international students in SD. This is thanks in large part to our 2 student leaders: Sarah Lim and Alli Case (pictured below).
They were our only student leaders for a time and they just graduated at the end of last semester.
We're sad to see them go but also excited to see what God has in store for them. Before they left, though, Lauren and I challenged them to find a few students each to fill their shoes.
We are really excited to say that we now have 12 new student leaders in total to lead UCSD and SDSU in serving and loving international students!
Praise God for His provision!
Instagram is more than a fun way to show the world what you had for dinner. We've been working hard with our amazing student leaders to craft and deploy a new digital outreach strategy to connect with incoming international students and we're really excited about it.
Using Instagram, the #1 social media platform for college students, we're praying for God to connect us with students open to truly seeking Jesus. Please pray with us.
We want to keep seeking God in everything we do, no matter what. Even, and especially, when times get tough. This is why we pray:
“We do not know what to do,
but our eyes are on You."
Pray for God to use us strategically during this time to reach out to these students virtually all around the globe.
Pray for God to use the Zoom Bible studies in powerful ways.
Praise and thank God for His provision of 12 new student leaders.
Pray for God to connect us with students open to truly seeking Jesus.
