Here we go! This week the Cru team headed to SDSU bright and early to catch new students, with parents in tow, heading into SDSU’s convocation ceremonies. We were passing out flyers for our ministry, advertising events for students to attend, and asking them to fill out online forms to stay up-to-date on how they can get involved. We were also advertising an event for that evening where we were taking students to Mission Beach for a bbq bonfire.
Lauren and I were especially on the lookout for international students and had some great conversations with quite a few!
At one point, we were talking to these brothers who sounded very American. Lauren ended up asking them if they were from San Diego originally, to which they replied casually, “No, we are from Italy and moved here 6 years ago.”
Here’s a fun fact about Lauren: She was a missionary in Rome for 8 years and still has a huge heart for Italy. When she heard this, and I cannot stress this enough, she was absolutely FLOORED! She literally dropped the bag she was holding and immediately starting speaking Italian with them. Their eyes lit up as they were able to speak their native language with someone else. It… was… AWESOME.

SDSU is a busy campus!
Later that night we had the bbq bonfire event where around 90 students from SDSU who showed up. It was a great way to start the semester. We can clearly see God moving here.
Pray for God to draw students to Himself, that they would draw near to Him and hear Him so they can believe.
Pray for all of our leaders.
