Up Next for Glam
Portland → San Diego
It’s hard to believe we moved to Portland only 3 years ago. We've had some really good times and also some difficult times with figuring out life, especially what our future is going to look like and taking steps toward that future. Coming into a new city (Portland) really gave us time to grow strong together as a couple. We got married last November and are excited about building our life together.
During the last two years Gloria and I have also been active in the community and evangelistic programs of our church. The highlight of many weeks was helping to lead our Bible study group in inner-west Portland.
We have loved living in Portland and have made some amazing friendships that we will miss, but we believe these next steps to be very important and life-giving. Our calling to reach people for Christ has been growing, and my passion to teach the Bible to international college students has stayed strong ever since moving back to the USA from Australia a few years ago. We have been asking the Lord what He wants us to do. Through prayer, patience, persistence, and God’s guidance, I have joined as a full-time staff member of Cru in San Diego.
Joining Cru
Cru is a worldwide organization committed to making an eternal difference in people’s lives. The ministry’s objective is to give each person in the world the opportunity to say “yes” to Jesus. I have been assigned to be a Bridges Ambassador with Cru in San Diego.
Bridges International is a non-profit, Christian organization that exists to serve and mobilize the international student population in the USA and abroad. We are thrilled that God has called me to serve Him in this way.
This change in our lives is a big part of why we will be leaving Portland, OR and relocating to Gloria’s hometown of San Diego, CA.
Help Sam Get Started
As a first step in this process I will attend New Staff Training in September. This training will prepare me for the ministry to which the Lord has called me. Like many other missionary organizations, Cru staff members have the responsibility to develop a team of financial partners who provide the necessary finances for their outreach, including their salary and ministry related expenses.
Would you be in a position to help me attend this training by giving a special gift of $100, $300 or $500 or some other amount? Giving is easy and only takes a few minutes. Simply give a gift online by clicking the button below.
Thank you for considering this request. Gloria and I are both grateful for whatever you decide to do. I would love to tell you more if you’re interested. Also, following the training I look forward to sharing more with you about our ministry.
Sam Davis has focused on international student ministry since 2010 and is on staff with Cru and Bridges International in San Diego, CA. His passion for leading others into a close relationship with Jesus is shown in his general love for people and focus on discipleship.
Sam and his wife, Gloria, love to travel, meet people, eat great food, and hike.
