I remember growing up, in school and listening to the song "Food glorious food" and absolutely falling in love with it. Every time I would eat, that's the song I would sing. It almost became a staple at dinner times for all my sisters to sing as an appreciation for my mothers cooking.
I am number four of seven sisters. Naturally, we all fought for my mums attention and I found the best way to get close to her was to cook with her. My mum always loved cooking, and with nine mouths to fill, she was always in the kitchen cooking up all sorts of different curries and western dishes with an Indian twist. My efforts to get close to her has taught me a lot about cooking and over the years, I have implemented that in my cooking and made it my own. I absolutely love going to peoples homes and watching them cook, you can always find me in the kitchen either peeking over them or being the taster or cleaning up as they cook just so I can dissect what they have used.
For me, cooking makes me feel at peace. I enjoy trying out new recipes whilst still learning traditional recipes from my elders around me. My love of food has been there from a very young age and now in my 30's, my favourite down time hobby is watching the likes of Mark Weins, Trevor James (The Food Ranger), Country Food/Myna Street Food(The 80 year old Grandmas), Manjula's Kitchen, Jamie Oliver and so many more food vloggers.
My biggest and greatest motivator, my love and my better half has always encouraged me to learn and venture out trying new cuisines even though he only sticks to dishes he knows i.e Classic chicken burger. I love seeing the expressions on his face when he eats and the best feeling for anyone who loves to cook is when they all go back for more.
This site has been created because of you; you have either loved eating my food, watching my insta-videos, forever drooling or just have a big appetite like me and want to learn. I don't cook everyday so I wanted to share easy and quick ways to make dishes for friends/family. You wont find a precise ingredient measurement list as I believe in making each dish yours and just like you all, I am still learning.
