Oya

''Here be dragons.''

Oya, more commonly referred to as the city of Dragons, is the second largest city in the world and the greatest ally to the city of Neverwinter. While not as chaotic as Neverwinter in the eyes of the law, this city is still considered to be chaotic by many for its extremely high concentration of mythical creatures, especially with the draconian family.

The City

Oya is the greatest draconian, and mythical, city in the world, and the second largest city to have ever been built. It's one of the most ancient settlements, having been built only 300 years after Neverwinter upon a large and ancient ash lands. While it has a rich history behind its construction and life, much like Neverwinter, it's history is almost entirely lost to the ages.

Despite this, the city is far from being stuck in the past. There are many species which thrive within the city, especially the dragonics, spirits and scorchers, which have even outlived the city and have migrated in from Neverwinter. These rare individuals hold all of the history in their memories, though of course without the correct influence they can't spread this history around. They understand the importance of it and spread it at every opportunity, understanding they can't allow it to stagnate as it may lose all of its ancient charm.

It's well known to many that the majority of the population of Oya are dragonic, or other species which can handle the extreme heat and ash of the city's atmosphere. Although renowned for being large, intimidating and defensive of their territories, the Dragonics of Oya aren't xenophobic by any means of the word and anyone willing to brave the harsh atmosphere and beasts are welcome to stay and live here for as long as they please.

It's also considered to be the very centre of Dragon Keeper culture, where many who follow the Dragon Keeper organisation will find themself respected, enjoyed and can find a good audience with those interested in their areas of work.

Architecture

Although not considered to be the most modern city to present standards, it's still considered to be heavily modern to the standards of the many dragonics which live here. Just like everywhere else in the world, electronic and magitek technology is still heavily present alongside the ancient architecture, and in no way is the city lacking behind the others in terms of progress.

Similarly to Neverwinter, individuals within the city describe it to have a very black and orange feel to it. The brickwork is often black and dark grey, with deep crimson wooden beams and glass usually stained black by the ash in the atmosphere. Although the city has a very dark and rogue appearance about it, it holds more luxurious treasures than people would expect, and many of the residents here tend to have very bright or exotic designs to accompany the insides of their homes.

This is also consistent for many of the public use buildings in the city as well. While some buildings, such as the Sleeping Devil Inn, like to retain a much more traditional look to their constructions (this one in particular looking much like a classic medieval tavern), others like the make themselves look flashy to defeat any competition. It creates an unusual contrast within the city which no other location in the world seems to have the pleasure of hosting.
