Sunday, 4 Aug 2024 is the first Sunday of the church’s financial year and is also our Pledge Sunday. We thank the Lord for His faithfulness in providing for and blessing our church family. We thank Him for your sacrificial giving so that PLMC remains strong financially. Post COVID, we have stepped up our mission to bless the community and the nations, so our budget for the new financial year plans to support more outreach activities in this Year of Engagement and missions in the Year of Expansion next year.
Please prayerfully consider how you would support the Lord’s work at PLMC. Each of our circumstances is unique, and we only ask that you respond in faith as the Lord leads.
Please read the Budget Letter and submit the e-Pledge Card as an important aspect of our Worship to the Lord.
You can also pick up copies of the letter and physical pledge card after the service. Physical pledge cards can be submitted at the entrance of the sanctuary next Sunday as well.

Dearest friends and co-labourers of God,
I greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Please pray along with me:
O God our Heavenly Father, this month, we celebrated Singapore’s 59th National Day. We thank you for giving us leaders and people who have built this nation into what it is today. We thank you for blessing us with a place where we can freely praise and worship you, and where we can freely proclaim and confess that your Son Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour. We ask that you be gracious to us and make your face to shine on us as a nation. We ask that you continue to make our country strong but also peace-loving; we pray that you bless us with prosperity but also give us a generous heart; and we pray that you imbue in us a sense of your justice and mercy toward all.
Lord God, help us to acknowledge that you are high above all the nations and that your glory is above the heavens. And help us to remember that while we are a nation filled with people of many races and religions – citizens and foreign talents – that you reign over us all and you love each and every one of us. We pray for our new Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and ask that you fill him with wisdom and a sense of justice and righteousness as he leads us into the next era. We also pray for wise and thoughtful political leaders who will assist him to lead our nation with compassion – and that they will continue to establish policies that will give care to the poor and needy, the marginalised, and the unfortunate.
We lift our children in the Hope Student Care Centre to you, O God. We pray for them to be diligent in their schoolwork, to be obedient to their parents and teachers, and to be loving towards each other. We pray especially for the Primary 6 children who will be going through their PSLE this year. They would have finished their oral exams by now, and will soon be preparing and sitting for the listening comprehension exams, and quickly followed by the written papers. We ask that you give them strength to study hard and bless them with energy and wisdom to prepare for and sit through the exams. We also ask for the Hope SCC teachers who will be helping them to prepare for the exams. We ask that you give them an extra dose of patience as they face this stress together with the kids.
We ask, O God, that you look upon the homeless and rough sleepers with mercy. Even as our nation’s leaders draw up plans to provide financial and social help to our citizens, we pray that our homeless friends do not get left behind or fall between the cracks. We pray that we will be able to point them towards where they would also be able to get the assistance that everyone else is getting. We pray this same prayer for the residents we minister to in the Joint Singles Scheme units of Blk 208A Woodleigh Link and Blk 999A Buangkok Crescent. We thank you that they have found shelter and places to live. But they continue to be marginalised by others and we ask that even as you shelter them from prejudices, that you also fill us with the wisdom to serve them such that their dignity and self-worth are preserved.
We ask all these things in your Son Jesus Christ’s most wonderful name. Amen!
