OUTREACH MINISTRY
Year of Engagement : Community Blessing @ Lorong Ah Soo & Woodleigh
Spiritual covering in the block blessing exercise
Boldness, courage and empowerment by the Holy Spirit and not relying on our human effort
Vision of the harvest
Compassion of Jesus in reaching out
Discernment and wisdom in inviting the residents for the Easter Services
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dearest friends and co-labourers of God,
I greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Please pray along with me:
O God our Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity to bless the families in Lor Ah Soo and Woodleigh Link this coming Palm Sunday. We thank you for all the cell groups from the English Service, Mandarin Service, Youth Service and Filipino Service who have responded to the call to deliver the blessing bags to over 1,400 households in the Lor Ah Soo blocks situated next to Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School and Blk 208A Woodleigh Link, and to invite the households to our Easter Services. We also thank you for the cell groups who were unable to do the delivery because of elderly members and members who have problems walking – they still signed up to help pack all the blessing bags. We also thank you for the cell groups and worshippers who will be staying in the background and uplifting the entire event in prayer. We humbly ask that you bless all of them, O God, for doing this good work in so many ways.
We also ask that you bless us all with good weather on that Palm Sunday. Many of our cell groups and worshippers will be taking the bus to their respective locations, and thereafter will need to navigate to their assigned blocks in the afternoon. Watch over them, Heavenly Father, and be their shade at their right hand (Psa 121:5).
Protect them as they move into the areas in Lor Ah Soo and Woodleigh Link. We are fully aware that as we strive to expand your Kingdom, Satan will work to frustrate this endeavour with all kinds of obstructions. We pray that you will send your angels to encamp around our people and guard them against the evil one. Do not let any weapon formed against them prosper. Keep them safe under the shadow of your wings as they do this good work for you.
We pray that you embolden the hearts of all the cell group members and worshippers and anoint their lips to invite those they meet to come for our Easter Services. We pray that they will keep in mind that this event is not just about delivering blessing bags, it is about befriending the residents and ultimately inviting them into your Kingdom. In this regard, we pray that they will continue to build relationships with the families they meet even after the completion of this Outreach event.
O Lord our God, we pray that as we partner you in this endeavour and do the good works that you have prepared in advance for us to do, touch and soften the hearts of those we meet so that they would be willing to make the choice to come for our Easter Services. And when they do, O God, make yourself known to them in a very real way so that they will be willing to receive and enter your Kingdom.
We pray all these things in your Son Jesus Christ’s name. Amen!
