PRAYER FOCUS

OUTREACH

Dearest friends and co-labourers of God, I greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Please pray along with me:

O God our Heavenly Father, we thank and praise you for being faithful to your promises to us in the year 2023. As we look forward to the year 2024, we are confident that your steadfast love will never end and that your mercies will never come to an end. Great is your faithfulness to us, O Lord! In this Year of Engagement, we pray that you will bless the works of our hands as we continue the regular good works of bringing your love and blessings to the people in the community. We also pray that you will lead us and guide us as we extend our tents to new areas in the community – help us to be a blessing to new people groups as more cell groups and worshipers answer your call to love their neighbour.

And so, O God, even as we pray for the families in the rental blocks Blk 223A Serangoon Ave 4, Blk 8 Lorong Lew Lian, and for the poor and needy families in Braddell Heights Zone D (Blks 201 to 210 Serangoon Central), we also ask for your boldness and wisdom to reach out to the new families in Blk 208A Woodleigh Link and Blk 999A Buangkok Crescent. We know that they are hungry and needy for actual food as well as for righteousness, and that they need financial support and emotional support. Allow us to feed them and support them materially and spiritually. Give us the ability to show them that you can restore their dignity, their self-worth, and their self-esteem by restoring your image in them.

We pray for the children in the community, those in Hope Student Care Centre, and those in the Anglican Family Centre. As they begin a new school year, give them the desire to learn and the gift of knowledge. Help them to excel in the talents that you have bestowed them with; and in those areas and subject that they are not so strong in, give them perseverance to grow. Let them have teachers who will love them and give them godly advice and fill them with godly values. Surround them with friends who are encouraging, even as they encourage their friends. We ask that you shine your face upon them and give them peace of mind during their tests and exams this year. Help them to know with confidence that you are always with them.

We pray for the elderly in the community, especially those whom we minister to at St Luke’s Eldercare and ECON Medicare. Heavenly Father, bless them with good health as they live in their twilight years. Give us the strength to minister to them and to give them a listening ear. We also pray for the nursing staff at these centres, too. Bless them with wisdom, forbearance, and strength to manage and take care of our elderly friends.

We pray for the homeless and rough-sleeper friends. Heavenly Father, some of them choose to rough-sleep because their families are broken. We ask, O God, that you will bring restoration to their broken relationships. Through us, O God, let them know that you love them and want the best for them. As we minister to them, help them to realise and know that they can find the rest, restoration, and abundant life only when they choose to enter your Kingdom.

We ask all these things in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
