24 July 2024

Thank God for His faithfulness and goodness! In June 2024, we had an inspiring church camp., where camp speaker, Ps Philip Lyn, reminded us to ask: “What’s next, God?” God has indeed blessed our church tremendously and we are to bless our community and the nations in turn, especially in the coming Year of Expansion.

Over the past year, with COVID-19 no longer a pandemic, our church has resumed our mission trips and outreach programs such as block blessings involving the whole church to engage our community without. We give thanks that you, our church family, have continued to give sacrificially and PLMC remains strong financially.

The next financial year will be an exciting one as we press on with the vision to be a blessing to the community and the nations. Many mission trips are planned to give church members the opportunity to bring God’s Word to the nations beyond our shores. At the same time, we are planning for the lease renewal of the Church land ahead of the lease expiry in 2027.

As such, we have prepared our Church budget for the new financial year, 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025.

In keeping with our call to bless the community and the nations, we continue to channel 55% of our annual expenses towards Community Outreach, Social Concerns, Church Ministries and Missions. Our outreach and social concerns ministry remain committed to reach out to the vulnerable, marginalised, and underprivileged within our society. In addition to our Covenant Kindergarten, SonShine Kids, Silver Boxes programs and the Hope Student Care Centre looking after the needs of children, our monthly block blessings have expanded beyond Serangoon to Lorong Lew Lian, Buangkok, Woodleigh and Lorong Ah Soo, catering to communities within a 5-kilometre radius of our Church.

On the Missions front, we maintain strong collaborations with our field partners and missions agencies, supporting missionaries, missioners and tentmakers in the region and beyond.

The remaining 45% of the expenses are primarily used to finance our church operations, including funding our staff, congregational expenses, Trinity Annual Conference Commitment as well as the physical maintenance and infrastructure expenses of our church buildings.

As we look ahead to the new financial year as a church, we ask you to prayerfully consider your pledges for the new year. Each of our circumstances is unique, and we only ask that you respond in faith as the Lord leads.

“Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

August is the start of the Financial Year at PLMC, and the first Sunday therein is set aside as Pledge Sunday where we, as church members, renew our commitment to the Lord by supporting His work at PLMC with our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. As you prayerfully consider your giving, you may submit your pledge card electronically by scanning the QR code to access the e-Pledge Form.

May the Lord bless you and your family abundantly as you honour the Lord in your giving!
