Are you done with a character’s story or no longer interested in using them? If Death or Ascension are not in the cards, it’s now possible to have your character vanish from existence! A little Watcher Magic goes a long, log way, kekekeke~
In-character, erasure functions the same way as inactive characters are handled. The tenant’s soul fades from the manor, leaving nothing behind. It is simply a cruel act of The Watcher themself, perhaps from being bored of the tenant's lack of activity or behavior they deemed unfit for their realm. The exact reason is up to you.
Mechanically, there are a few things that need to be done. Please make sure you understand all of these rules before you decide to delete a character.
The character is wiped clean from the database. Their row will be removed, and all the information on it will be deleted permanently. NPC Points will be lost.
If the character was still ALIVE, you can get their room key and one (1) modifying item used on them returned to your general inventory.
If the character was already DEAD, you will earn nothing back.
The tenant will NOT have a Crypt. If they have an existing Crypt, it will vanish and be deleted off of the database, too. Due to the nature of Crypt Servants in the lore, they cannot exist without the physical body of the host being buried in the Manor's graveyard.
The rest of the tenant’s modifying items will be permanently discarded. All of their inventory items that can be transferred (excluding things such as NPC Gifts, Certain Wish Items, and Used Glyphs) will be moved to your general inventory. Excluded items will be deleted.
The member MUST give up the character’s name. The name itself can be re-reserved, of course, but the name will be free to use until you or someone else reserves it again.
The member must give up character’s original concept and memories. They cannot return, even with new modifications, the same way they could have if they only died and were buried. You must submit a whole new character, and other tenants cannot see this new character as the one you previously terminated. They are long gone.
To permanently erase a character, please send a message in your ticket with the form below:
Character To Erase: Tenant Name
Modifying Item: Modifying Item you want returned to your general inventory
Inventory: What should the staff do with the remaining inventory items?
Not at all! Erased characters that were still ALIVE do not count towards a death since the tenant will not have a graveyard plot. If a tenant was already DEAD, their death will not be retracted from the counter. Instead, their plot is empty the next morning and ready to be filled by another body.
If you are interested in changing the appearance of the character, perhaps the Design Guide can give you some inspiration! It also has examples on what is possible to freely change and what will require purchased items. If you are looking to change their personality or history, please submit a message in your ticket so you can discuss it further with the mod team! We want you to be happy with the characters you create for the group, after all.
If you ever plan to bring back a dead character, please refer to the Revival page instead! Death is somewhat reversible in the realm of WOE Manor, leaving the fate of your character entirely up to you. Maybe the answer you are looking for lies there!
