Activity checks are fairly loose in Woe Manor. As long as you submit something for every character once every 8 months, you will never lose a character due to inactivity. We have additional rules that make it super easy for both staff and members to keep your characters active, so please read everything below!

Activity check deadlines are at the end of each opening.
Active characters are marked with a ✦ in column C of the database.
At the end of one activity check, another begins.
If you submit anything, art, lit, an rp log, of a character then they are marked as active for that check.
If you miss a deadline with a character, they are not dead immediately. Any character that is not active by the deadline will be gain the “UNKNOWN” status. Characters with this status will lose their jobs and are effectively missing.
If your character is in the “UNKNOWN” status and you submit something for them, they will return to their “ALIVE” status and will be marked as active for the next check.
Any character that has the “UNKNOWN” status at the end of an activity check, (i.e. has not drawn their character in 8 months), will be removed from the group. In canon this is seen as their soul fading away.
If a level 0 character enters the “UNKNOWN” status & the owner only has 1 character, that character is automatically removed from the group as well as the owner.
People & characters joining during an opening are not affected by that opening’s activity check.
If you are on a hiatus and you notify the mods of this, your characters cannot die from the “UNKNOWN” status! Additionally please talk to the mods if you need an activity check extension due to outstanding circumstances.
If all your characters die this way, then you will be removed from the group.
In summary: If you don’t draw a character for 2 opening periods (8 months) they will die, 2 strikes and you're out basically. If all your characters die in this way, you will be removed from the group.

No, you cannot gain the benefits of death if a character dies in this way & they do not become a crypt servant.

No, you don’t have to complete art for a check with a character that joined during the month of a check.

We will notify everyone who needs to complete an activity check on discord at the start of the last month of the check window (i.e. if there is a check at the end of July then we will announce it on July 1st.)
