Revival herbs protect a character from permadeath. They are immediately consumed from your character's inventory when you submit a piece that involves their death or go through a prompt that causes their death. Stock up!
Revival from a perma death is a relatively rare phenomena within Woe Manor, but certainly not unheard of. There are currently 3 ways to revive a character from permadeath.
Lesser wishes can be bought from Willow's Shop for 1000wc. They revive a character with 0 EXP
A wish received at rank 10 from the Watcher, henceforth called Watcher wishes, can revive a character with the same EXP value they had at death.
Greater Wishes can be bought from the Ascension Shop for one letter. These wishes are also Watcher wishes, reviving a tenant with the same EXP value they had at death
Additionally, going through Ascension Path III and returning to 0 EXP works in almost the same way as a lesser wish, essentially returning yourself to a new tenant.
The tenant's EXP is returned to 0 EXP in the case of lesser wishes & Ascension Path III.
Most gifts are lost when a tenant is returned to 0 EXP.
You return to having only two moves in your moveset. Moves learned through TMs are not lost. When you relearn these moves, they do not need to be the moves that you chose in your previous life.
You forget all memories from your previous life gained through ranking up.
Your tenant loses access to the forest, attic, and basement. They regain access to them as normal as they rank up again.
Your tenant loses their job and must rank up again to become employed.
You lose all of your spells. When you regain your spells, they do not need to be the same spells that you learned in your previous life, this includes your legendary spell.
You lose access to your mega form even if you have permanently mega evolved. When you reach the rank to unlock mega evolution again, you may design a different mega for your character, provided they don’t have a canonical one already.
Your wish usually persists after you derank, (due to the open ended nature of wishes, there is the possibility of wishing for something that cannot be sustained on a revival/path III). When you rank up to rank 10, you get the chance to end your current wish and wish for something else.
Memories from within the character's life at Woe Manor can be forgotten in full, remembered in full, or a mix of the two. Whatever works the best for your character’s story.
All tenants will remember your character as normal.
All NPCs will remember your character as normal.
Physical damage from the tenant's death can remain, however they must still be intact enough to be alive. Traits from a crypt servant form cannot persist.
The tenant’s tonic effects, elixir effects, type changes, fusions, and other consumable item effects persist, however the items will no longer be able to be reclaimed upon death. These items will be encased in square brackets in the database [] so that they are easily identified as ineligible for death rewards.
A temporary key is created in their inventory. This key will also have the brackets mentioned above [] and will be unable to be claimed as a death reward. The key will be the same key type as they had in their first life.
All of the tenant’s room upgrades are lost.
The tenant will be assigned to a new room.
In the case of a Watcher wish, you are not automatically given your job back, you must reapply.
The tenant’s grave will be removed and their crypt servant will no longer be active.
If the tenant dies again, they may have a new crypt servant design, or use their old one provided that their living design did not change.
